There is nothing that will help your Web site more than adding good quality content to it on a regular basis. The search engines will reward you with rankings if they see you are constantly adding fresh content to your site.
There is one thing to keep in mind when adding content and that is “great words on your pages plus great words in your link text will result in great rankings.”
It is all a numbers game so the more content you add along with the more good link text you have the more chances you have of the search engines rewarding you with good rankings.
Let’s talk about the link text the search engines are looking for:
- They are looking at your internal links - the links that happen within your own site. They want to see your keywords included in the link text of your internal links.
- Next they are looking for external links that are pointing to your site that include your keywords in the link text.
- They are also looking to see if the Web sites you are pointing to are directly related to your industry.
That being said it is crucial to work not only on your content but also take a close look at who you are linking to, how you use your link text within your own site and lastly examine the link text of other sites linking back to you.
